June 24, 2026 Update

6/27/2026

UPDATE June 24, 2026 Patrick Henry Court Drainage Project:

Hollyfield Park Parking Lot Resurfacing Update: Crews have finished laying material on the Hollyfield Park parking lot.
Landscaping: AMT inspected the plantings and will provide a report. The ongoing drought presents a challenge to establish healthy root systems. The landscaping will continue to be monitored throughout 2026 and into 2027.
Steady Construction Final Steps of the Patrick Henry Court Drainage Project:
  • Crews have completed demobilization of construction equipment. They continue with smaller repairs and adjustments as we monitor the effectiveness of the project with rainfall.
  • Some areas of erosion and sediment control fencing were removed, as permitted by DEQ, the rest must remain in place until new grass is fully established and approval is received.
  • Final site cleanup will be completed by the contractor once the fencing is permitted to be removed.
IMPORTANT REMINDER:
Erosion and sediment control fencing is a critical part of the project and is required to remain in place throughout all project zones until stabilization is complete.
This fencing helps prevent erosion, protects newly seeded areas, and ensures the site meets environmental and regulatory requirements.
Please do not remove, move, or tamper with the fencing along property lines or in common areas. Doing so can compromise the work, create setbacks, and delay the overall completion of the project.

Final Steps:
AMT (Engineer of Record) completed the survey work on June 18, 2026. They are preparing the as-builts for review by Steady Construction and LOWA in order create a punch-list of incomplete work. The list will be reviewed and a timeline developed for final project tasks. LOWA staff are also working with regulatory departments (DEQ & Orange County) on permitting requirements for closeout.  Any projects outside of the original project scope will not be included in this project completion punch-list. LOWA Staff continues to monitor the project during rain events to observe and note if it is functioning as designed.
Remaining Road Work:
  • Paving on Yorktown Blvd., and tar-and-chip work on Patrick Henry Court will be completed as soon as AMT approves the construction work or any additional required work is completed to their satisfaction. Advance notification will be provided.
