Swimming Pools

Make a splash at one of Lake of the Woods’ two outdoor pool facilities — the Clubhouse Pool and the Sweetbriar Pool — where summer fun and relaxation await! The Sweetbriar Pool, located near the Community Center, and the Clubhouse Pool, overlooking the lake, offer the perfect spots to swim, unwind, and enjoy the season with family and friends. Access is quick and convenient with your LOWA Member Card.

Pool Access

Easy Entry with Your Member Card

Members use their LOWA Member Card to tap in at the pool gate —
a quick, secure, and convenient way to enjoy your day at the pool.


Here's how it works:

1

Head to the entrance at either the Clubhouse Pool or Sweetbriar Pool.

2

Show your Member Card to the lifeguard, then tap it at the gate reader.

3

When the light turns green, you're good to go!

4

If the light doesn't turn green, stop by Member Services to check your card status.

Make Sure Your Card Is Ready

Everyone in your household age five and older needs a current LOWA Member Card (issued since June 2019) to access the pools.
Flip your card over and look for a string of numbers in the bottom corner.

? Numbers = Current card

Your card is valid and ready for pool access.

? No numbers = Time for a replacement

Need a new card? Visit Member Services for a free replacement.

?? Please remember: Only members in good standing may use the pools.    ?? Do not puncture your Member or Guest Pass card for any reason.

Guest Fees

The Pool Season is Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.
The pool is free for Members and registered tenants, and guests under the age of 5. Guests must be accompanied by a Member.

Pools and Snack Bar operate CASHLESS.

Daily Multi Guest Passes:
  • 10 visits $70.
  • 20 visits $90
  • 30 visits $95

Unlimited Guest Pool Pass $110:
Unlimited visits by a guest all season. Only one guest, per pass, per visit.


Passes are also available for purchase at the pools or Member Services in the Holcomb Building. Pools operate CASHLESS.

Private Event Pool Rental

Groups (over 10 individuals) must get approval from the Community Operations Manager prior to their private event. Private events can be scheduled after regular pool hours. Private events are available at Sweetbriar Pool. Clubhouse Pool is not available to be reserved for private events.

Members planning a private event at Sweetbriar pool must contact the Community Center at 540-972-9680, a minimum of three weeks prior to the event.

Sweetbriar Pool is located in the Sweetbriar Park Complex near the Community Center. The Sweetbriar Pool is home to the Barracudas, LOW's competitive swim team, which uses the pool for practices and swim meets. Located Adjacent to a playground, pavilion picnic complex, community center and soccer fields.

Pool Features

  • A rectangular pool with entry ramp, steps, and ladder entries.
  • Separate activity pool area with gate for children 6 and under.
  • Diving board and slide.
  • Shower and bathroom facilities.
  • They are a CASHLESS facility.

Directions: From the front gate, turn right on Lakeview Parkway to Yorktown Blvd. Follow Yorktown Blvd to Freedom Road (on right) and follow the signs to Sweetbriar Park.

The Clubhouse pool is located next to the Lake of the Woods Clubhouse. A playground, picnic area, beach and basketball court are also near by. The Fitness Center and beach bathrooms are also located in the same facility.

Directions: From the front gate, go straight from the stop sign on to Lake of the Woods Parkway. Park either in the large lot to the right of Lake of the Woods Parkway or in the accessible parking, available in front of the building.

Weather Safety

In the event of heavy rain, thunder, lightning, or a hazardous condition in the opinion of the pool manager / lifeguard, all swimmers will be cleared from the water, the bathhouses and deck area.
 

All swimmers and pool patrons are to remain out of the pool if the flash-to-bang count is under 30 seconds, and not to return until 30 minutes have elapsed since the last lightning is seen or thunder heard.

Due to line-of-sight obstructions with trees, lifeguards use the WeatherBug application's Spark Feature to determine the nearest lightning strike.

Winkler Pool Management will be providing both private and group swim lessons at the Lake of the Woods this summer. Children will learn the essential skills needed to be confident and safe in and around the water.

LOW Barracudas

The LOW Barracudas Swim Team is open for all children and grandchildren of LOW residents who are ages 5-18 as of June 1, 2025, and can swim independently across the pool.  

The swim season runs from May 27 - July 26, at Sweetbriar Pool. The team will have 6 swim meets beginning in June, and a championship meet on July 26th.  Registration for returning swimmers begins March 23rd, registration for new swimmers opens on April 2nd and runs until April 30th.  The cost is $155 for the 1st swimmer, $140 for the 2nd swimmer, $125 for the 3rd swimmer, and $115 for every subsequent swimmer.  Each swimmer also needs to pay a $20 RSL fee.  Check our website for registration information and team updates. www. LOWSWIM.org.
