Progress Update: Main Gate Traffic Congestion Relief Project:
- LOWA Project team has not scheduled any other site work activities to keep the site ready for the contractor (BZ Excavating) to remediate any findings from the geotechnical report.
- A third-party inspection of the first sequence of excavation work has been done and we have received those results.
- Findings of Inspection of geotechnical subgrade of the relocated Member Lane: The subgrade was found to be insufficient in one area of the relocated member lane which will require remediation by the Contractor. Testing showed substrate was clay in one of the locations of the relocated member lane and will require an undercut based on VDOT requirements.
- The remediation plan for substrate will occur the week of 12/16.
- The Secondary Guard Building has been completed in fabrication and is ready to ship to the site when the base platform is completed.
