Main Gate Traffic Congestion Relief Project UPDATE (10/4):
- Awaiting final approval of building permit from Orange County based on VDOT site comments, contractor (BZ Excavating, Inc.) securing building permit.
- Street light fixtures have been received, awaiting poles for installation.
Projected completion by March of 2025.
What to Expect the week of October 7:
Prepping-Contractor, (BZ Excavating, Inc.) prepping the construction site areas with erosion control measures, orange fencing, barrier controls, and safety measures. Equipment being staged in the Holcomb Building Parking Lot.
Work Activity-Contractor will be constructing concrete bases for the new light poles located in the median areas of the Main Gate.
Work Activity-The contractor will be installing conduit for the project's electrical wiring
We Ask Members To:
- Be cautious when coming in and out of the Main Gate.
- Keep an eye out for workers on the shoulders and moving around the Main Gate area.
- Keep an eye out for new traffic patterns or flaggers as the project progresses.
Traffic through the Main Gate
will not be closed completely at any point
during the project.
There
WILL be potential
traffic delays or
temporary lane closures for short periods of time.
