Excerpt from Orange County Board Supervisor District Five, Bryan Nicol, Lake Currents article, published September 20, 2024.

"Dwayne Roadcap, the Director of the VDH Office of Drinking Water, provided an update and answered questions from the Orange County Board of Supervisors at our Tuesday, Sept. 10 meeting. We spent the first hour of our meeting hearing the latest on the investigation and preliminary findings.
Please see this link for the recording of the Sept. 10 meeting of the VDH/RSA briefing: https://orangecova.portal.civicclerk.com/event/338/media.
At the meeting, Director Roadcap and RSA General Manager Tim Clemons discussed the catastrophic failure of a water intake pump at RSA’s facilities that occurred the day before the water emergency and subsequent failures of the remaining two water intake pumps on Aug. 24.
The pumps contain food grade mineral oil and VDH has focused its investigation on the food grade mineral oil and the pump failures. Director Roadcap also informed the Board that the investigation is ongoing and that an investigative report would be completed and published once the investigation is complete. This article is written in advance, and the VDH investigative report has not been published as of Sept. 15."

The report from the Office of Drinking Water -RRBC Presentation was presented by Dwayne Roadcap, Director, Office of Drinking Water on September 18,2024.
