IMPORTANT 9.9 Site Updates for LOWA:
Lake of the Woods is implementing several updates at the 9.9 Leaf/Brush Area to improve safety, organization, and site operations.
Effective Date: Nov. 2, 2026
New Hours of Operation
• Monday: 8 AM-4:30 PM
• Tuesday: CLOSED
• Wednesday: 8 AM-4:30 PM
• Thursday: CLOSED
• Friday: 8 AM-4:30 PM
• Saturday: 8 AM-4:30 PM
• Sunday: 8 AM-4:30 PM
Explanation of the Hour Changes
These updated hours are intended to provide residents with opportunities to access the site, including weekends, while allowing us to better manage daily operations. The site will be closed on Tuesdays and Thursdays to allow employees dedicated time to clean and organize the area, maintain the facility, and operate heavy equipment safely without residents and contractors present. These closure days will help us maintain a safer, cleaner, and more efficient site for everyone.
We will also monitor the daily volume of materials brought into the site and assess usage to determine how well the new schedule meets the needs of our community.
Attendant and Accepted Materials
An attendant will be stationed at the new attendant building to assist residents and contractors and help maintain safe, organized dumping practices.
Accepted Materials: Grass clippings, leaves, wood chips, and brush no larger than 2 inches in diameter.
All residents and contractors will be asked to provide the property owner's last name and lot number to the attendant before dumping. This will help ensure that everyone is directed to the appropriate and safe dumping area.
We are also evaluating potential changes to dumping procedures for contractors and will provide updates as decisions are made.
Inclement Weather Closures
For the safety of our residents, the 9.9 site will remain closed during inclement weather when conditions make site operations unsafe. Residents will be notified when the site is closed and when it is safe to reopen.
Thank you for your participation and support as we continue improving the 9.9 Leaf/Brush Area for the Lake of the Woods community. Your cooperation helps us maintain a safe, organized, and efficient facility for everyone.

Exciting news — LOWA contractor CCC Greenwaste LLC has officially mobilized to the 9.9 Leaf/Brush Area and will be hard at work over the next several weeks!
Starting Friday, October 9, the contractor will be using a tub grinder to process debris in the area. While this is great progress, we want to make sure everyone stays safe!
Please keep the following in mind when entering the area:
-
Proceed with caution when entering the 9.9 Leaf/Brush Area
-
Give the contractor and work zone plenty of space
-
Stay alert — the tub grinder can throw debris while operating
Thank you for your patience and cooperation while this important work is underway. Together, we'll get this done safely and efficiently!
