My friend Sher hosted my birthday party at the Clubhouse and these are her comments: I highly recommend events at the LOW clubhouse as I recently hosted a birthday party and wish to share my appreciation and gratitude to Clubhouse manager Chaz and banquet manager Angela for their contributions in making this such a joyful and memorable occasion.
From the moment I arrived I was touched by the warmth of the room. Sunflowers brightened every corner creating a cheerful and welcoming atmosphere that perfectly matched the spirit of the day. The buffet was delicious and the attention to every detail made the day unforgettable. I am most appreciative, thankful and grateful.

In spite of all the changes and improvements made at the Clubhouse/Fareways, the results have not yet managed to lure more customers. (President’s Letter, July 25
Lake Currents). The same sectors of members who did not previously dine at the Clubhouse/Fareways, still do not patronize our restaurants. The Borders Golf report ($25k) gave no attention to the reality of our highly static customer base, or guarantee of any real expectations that changes they recommended would improve patronage.
Large sectors of LOW residents continue to be families on a budget, one-person households, the elderly and disabled, and retirees who grew up in the 50’s & 60’s when eating out was a special occasion luxury and eating at home was considered the affordable norm. In our current environment of inflation, high food costs with menu up-pricing, and lingering effects of long-Covid when it was safer to eat at home, evidently it still is. Maybe it’s time to float another demographic survey.

A few months ago I sent a Viewpoints article about our roads crew doing chip and tar on side roads for years but not being done for a number of years. Recently our interim GM mentioned that we will go to a transition to asphalt. If this is to occur please advise the membership in a transparent manner how many employees we will be reducing how many pieces of very expensive equipment we will be selling and how much we will save in depreciation Also relative to the paving of Lakeview Parkway who oversaw the quality? The contractor failed to taper feather the asphalt into side roads in a terrible manner. This has occurred in numerous places perhaps one of the worse is entering the back gate. Totally unacceptable.
As an aside how about giving the GM job to Carolyn and not having an Asst GM we got by very well for years.
