True Value of Amenities. For me, amenities are more than the activity. Through golf, I have had the opportunity to play with many different people. Amenities mean connections to learn about different family histories, cultures, personal backgrounds and skill sets. I have learned about their struggles, amazing accomplishments and current activities. Whether at a card table, gym, sports venue, club, committee or at the kitchen table, connections have enormous impact on our lives. These connections with diverse interests, viewpoints, knowledge and perspectives help us understand what makes this community strong. We gain greater insight by listening and learning. I only wish I could remember it all. Some with success are able to give back. Most importantly, those with little still give back in some way, even if only in kindness, a helping hand or just a smile. What a great community. Our connections through participation in our amenities help us all grow, expand our friendships and be part of something greater than ourselves.

I have read the Presidents letter in the recent Lake Currents, as a past board member and President, I believe he has invited me to comment. He said there are (many) comments that the current board is dysfunctional! As an old saying goes "where there is smoke there is a fire.” My past friend Dr Peter Rainey would be an unhappy camper with this situation. From past personal experience, I don't mean to dismiss the difficulties of serving on the board or to unappreciate their board service. Chance of change vote Dave Davies and Alan MacDougall.
