Kudos to the Lake of the Woods Clubhouse!
The Wednesday, Mar 11, special of Cajun & Creole menu was great. Needed to do take-out; phoning in the order was seamless and ready on time. Picking up at the front desk could not have gone better; efficient, courteous and helpful all the way. Ordered 3 Entrée’s with included salads. Once home split these into 4 dinner meals; two for that evening and two for the next evening.
We shared the entrees between us and thoroughly enjoyed. Doing it this way brought the cost per dinner to 18.75 each, a good deal. Thanks for a win/win.

Since last year, the assessment increases has been outrageous, at a rate over the 3%, what is the thinking of the Board that making this increases over $220.00 last year and this year over $400.00. I am not sure if you do not realized how economy is and the hassle for families to keep up with expenses. Lake has always restricted to be uses because of contamination. It is constant notifications about restriction to use the lake. The main entrance to the community instead of being more effective, it is more and more congested. The renovation did not really make a difference. We have been living here since 2005 and honestly it is not getting better but extremely expensive.

The recent demotion of the duly elected Vice President and Secretary of the board is deeply disturbing for many reasons. The replacements 1) Vice President which is a member who was never duly elected by the voting membership and only has 5 months remaining in his current term 2) Secretary who received the second lowest total number of votes in this past election and with only 5 months remaining in his term defies reasonable logic. The association wants to frame this act in the form of a legally acceptable act that can be accomplished with or without cause which is accurate under our BYLAWS. The association has not been informed by what standards of Article IX Section 8c & 8d where not duly complied with by Mrs. Nicol or Mrs. Jennings that facilitated their officer removal. I believe this action extends by the question of legality which leads to speculation that the removal was of personal differences or voting preference differences. The importance of the Vice President position, I contend, based on our BYLAWS as that individual is to act due to the "inability or refusal to act" by the sitting President. Considering this requirement the association deserves more clarity on these reassignments

We understand the overpopulation of Canada Geese in LOW and appreciate LOWA's commitment to managing the environment and local wildlife. However, we urge you to allow the goose parents to keep one egg. This humane measure could help address overpopulation while respecting the parents’ instinct to nurture. A solitary chick often faces dangers from predators, greatly reducing its chances of survival. It would be painful to watch the devoted parents lose all their young. Allowing them to raise one egg fosters a stronger and more balanced ecosystem.

Re: Goose egg addling. Great idea needs to be done. Just a word of caution. Twenty years ago we did the same thing however some people called government people in and we were forced to stop. Little things mean a lot - why do we have eight spotlights front door light and interior lights on the Ferris building at night. Have we taken any action to sell LOWA owned numbered lots which have not and will not be used while still paying real estate taxes year after year?
